Modern Quilt exhibition poster designs
For the Modern Quilts exhibition, we created an MQ logo shape that was simple and could be filled with images of quilts from the show. This design allowed us to create multiple branded poster designs that highlight the diversity of quilt designs. This look and feel translated well to video, and we created a short video that didn’t require a voiceover or subtitles to give the viewer a clear idea of what the exhibition was about.
celebrating biodiversity’s beauty
This exhibition explored artists’ pivotal role in raising awareness about biodiversity’s importance. We chose an oversized format for the primary print piece so we could feature a variety of images and let some images be reproduced at a large size for maximum impact. The result was a brochure that gave the viewer a sense of what the exhibition was like while making them want to come to see more. We created a number of videos that each focused on a specific aspect of the exhibition and these were shared on social media throughout the exhibition.
newsletter redesign
The Museum’s quarterly newsletter has months’ worth of exhibitions, events, and programs to present to members. We designed a new template that allows some pages to be text heavy, while sections for exhibitions have breathing room to feature large images of artwork. The cover was redesigned to intrigue the viewer with an image from an upcoming exhibition filling the entire page. Credits that were normally included alongside the piece were located inside, inviting the reader to open the booklet. We developed additional colors for their brand and used them as bars along the top and bottom of section pages to help organize the content. The result is a newsletter that is inviting and easy to navigate.
summer camps
The Whatcom Museum provides summer camps for kids every year, and every year has a theme that threads through the creativity-focused camps. We created a poster, handbills, and digital and print ads, and social media assets.
